Delete your account

Last updated: 2026-10-18

DRAFT — This document is a placeholder pending legal review. The final version may differ materially.

You can delete your account and the personal data attached to it at any time. This page explains how, what happens next, and what we keep and why.

Delete it in the app

  1. Open and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile → Settings → Delete account.
  3. Type the confirmation, optionally tell us why, and confirm.

Can’t open the app? Ask us by email

Write to support@roomie.wtf from the email address of the account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We may ask you to confirm it is you before we act, and we reply within 30 days.

What happens next

  • Immediately: your profile disappears from discovery, you are signed out everywhere, and you can no longer sign in.
  • Within 30 days: your account and the data tied to it are permanently deleted: profile, photos and uploaded documents, messages you sent, saved searches and places, notification and device records.
  • Identity documents: if you verified your identity, the ID and selfie images are removed on a fixed schedule after the decision, and with your account at the latest.

What we may keep, and for how long

  • Records we are legally required to keep, such as invoices and payment records (kept for the period the law requires).
  • Reports and moderation records needed to keep other people safe, limited to what is necessary.
  • Security and audit logs, which are deleted on a rolling 90-day schedule.
  • Messages you sent that other people already received may remain in their own conversations until they delete them.

Before you delete

You can download a copy of your data first from Settings → Privacy & safety → Download my data.

If you have an active Premium subscription, it is cancelled automatically when you delete your account, so you are not charged again. If we cannot cancel it for any reason, the account is left as it is and you are asked to try again.
